Second Game of the season and a massive improvement! Plus the Game was more relaxed and played with more fun.
We started badly with them scoring from the off with a very quick break which caught us napping at the back but then we tightened up and our defensive team or Adam, Kier and Paul pressed up and harassed their striker, only Kier managed a stint without them scoring any goals though.
The Goal keeping duo of Ed and Chris both with Seaman esq ponytails did an immense job of denying more shots through some brilliant save, Chris impressed after being forced into service because of the absence of Bob. Ed staked a claim to be first choice keeper with a solid and confidant performance long may this form continue.
Our passing in Midfield was much quicker and movement was better, we were quite enjoyable to watch the interplay between Weasel, Ben. H and Ben. F allowed Neil and later James who worried the opposition with pace and trickery into backing off from us so as to allow the rest of the midfield to get into scoring positions and worry the oppositions keeper. This tireless work rate allowed Ben. F to burst from deep and score a sweet goal which the keeper had no chance of getting!
We had other shots on target with Ben.F rattling the uprights and Weasel and Neil to go close the former taking the ball off the opposition keeper!!!! At the half way line before having his shot saved by a group of defenders. Ben. H also went close at the dying end of the match but their keeper was up to it and tired legs had kicked in.
Unfortunately the final result does not do justice to huge effort that the team put in and all should be proud of the teamwork and resilience if this continues we should be challenging for mid table obscurity by Christmas.
