FC Skeletor 3-0 Real Diggler

Well done guys! Yeah we lost 3-0 but still the best Diggler performance and most enjoyable game, I think you will all agree. We held the mighty Skeletor for 17 1/2 minutes and possibly deserved to have our noses in front at half time. We defended as a team and had a few decent chances on the break with Adam, James & Neil all linking up well. We fell asleep at the start of the second half conceding immediately after the break. After that we pressed well, pushing Skeletor back & having a really good go at them, unfortunately we couldn't get the break we needed & ended up conceding 2 more goals. The scoreline flattered the opponents who, in our first game, thrashed us 8-1.

Bob - some great saves and some really well picked passes to set off our counter attacks.
Ben H - went at them hard with some good challenges, covered a lot of ground and went forward with purpose when required.
James - great pace worried the defence on numerous occasions, was unlucky not to score, covered in defence well when called upon.
Adam - I think we've found the position for you dude, some great challenges and passes and some good work going forward.
Neil - Our star forward's farewell performance was almost commemorated with a goal, you worked hard & were unlucky not to get the breakthrough, we'll miss you dude.
Paul - A lot was asked of you but you put in the leg work, getting back when needed and putting in some good challenges. Also good going forward.
Ed - Some solid challenges showing those Skeletorians who's boss, worked well in defence and picked out some good passes for the break.

Have a good Christmas & New Year chaps, lets carry forward this momentum, if we do I think we can get off the bottom of the league!

Thought the performance last week was excellent, good team work and plenty of industry going forward. Adam was a revelation in his new floating destroyer role and the whole team looked solid. Looking forward to the second half of the season. Merry Christmas
