Man it was cold!!! The pitch had a thin layer of Ice which should have meant we play with the grace and style of Torvil and Dean. Sadly that wasn't the case it was more like an NHL game but without toothless Canadians.
W.A.F FC came to play and boy did they mean business. Their game faces were well and truly on.
This was the first night of the reign of Bob (long may his beard grow and wealthy may his halls become..... sorry) and a baptism of fire it was.
the new line up of 2 in defence Chris and Adam had a torrid time against a small and Wiley attack (where was our defence colossus when we needed him?) who dragged them this way and that to get to the soft juicy Bob in goal. This wasn't helped by Adam's only just recovering from a cold and before long was puffing. Bob in goal was juggling many different responsibilities’s and was being peppered by all sorts of shots from a poor Italian look alike and a small quick dude in a beanie. In between the shot stopping brilliantness of Bobs game (just ask his testicles) there was a flurry of goals scored early on sadly, which knocked our confidence.
In Midfield we had the industrious pair of floaters James and Weasel whose brief was to get in amongst the opposition and cause havoc which they did, though they were pushed out to the wings by the sheer stomachs (huuuuge) of the opposition’s defenders. James went close early on when he beat his man on the left and streamed towards goals with his shot narrowly missing the goal, he made the keeper scramble so he must have been worried. Weasel dropped back into the middle of the park and kept us ticking over nicely though was left for most of the game to get the ball from Bob and bring it himself. The rest of us were trying to get into space, and to be honest the opposition let us have the space and crowded round Bobs area which later on had disastrous consequences later on when one of Bob passes was picked up just outside the area and lashed into the goal, what the opposition player was doing there the Ref should have moved him back.
We had quite a bit of possession in the first half but were punished when the opposition broke, I will hold my hand up, I don’t have the pace to get back quick enough nor the tackling ability (without sliding) and could have been at fault for loosing my player which I know I did early on the tall blonde thing that Mr Floyd have a run in with (more of that later). I’m afraid last night my passing was a bit off after having such a wicked game the week before I was struggling with a cold but that is no excuse.
Ben. F had a quiet first half manly due to the fact we couldn’t supply him with balls and when he did have it at his feet he was isolated. There were a few occasions when could break but indecision and fat defenders squished our few chances in a mass of man boobs.
Just before half time tempers frayed. One of their defenders having a shot inside OUR penalty area!!! Ben. F pointed this just before the ref blew his whistle and was treated to “F*ck off you F*cking C*nt!” To which I told him to watch his mount. I could have been harsh but he was bigger than me. He then squared up to me before Mr Harris came and to him to go away. (Cheers Ben) At the end of the day no one insults a fellow Diggler.
After Half time it was more of the same with us having good spells of possession with some good passing it was just not going to come for us. Neil (Jellyfish) Brown went close with a dipping curling effort but it was not to be.
We gave away a penalty near the end which Bob could do nothing but flap at as it sailed past him. From that point we were treading water. Tempers flared again with Ben. F being threatened with a fist in the face! The ref told him if he raised a hand he would be off! Go ref!
Gents that was not a fair representation of our ability and to be honest we had an off evening. I Believe Bob will be a fine manger and next week will be better. We play Red Sox who were the old fellas at the end of last night that Skelator thrashed 10-0!!
We need to track back and we need to find out what positions are best for which players. Bob your mission is that. We are better than last nigh and know it. Well done guys and lets go Balls Deep next week in a game which will hopefully be more fun.

I beleive that Paul was right to tell that gentleman to what his horse, or is it a large hill? I am not sure.

Pretty fair write up. I feel i was at fault for a few of the goals, especially getting nutmegged 3 times in a row. and some of my distribution was horrible but its all a learning curve.
Some good performances, James was a real stand out again.
Ben F, you were too isolated. but that was me getting it wrong so i will look to sort that for next week.
Got a couple of ideas but ill let you know them nearer the time when i have had a proper think about it.
One thing i wanted to talk about was me making changes dring the game, i personally didnt think it worked too well because it caused confusion some times so if your a sub and see an opportunity to make a change and feel its going to benefit us then go for it.

If you want to say for example "when Adam gets tired swap with Ed" and that way it's up to Adam to come off when he knows he's on his last legs. As long as you give the detailed instructions before hand we should be able to rotate ourselves. Unless you have a surge of inspiration and need to make the sub there and then.

yeah that sounds like a better idea. have set people to come on for certain people.
gonna try something a bit different next week and try people in different positions. well 1 person anyway, it might work but it might not. mysterious
i was off this week, touch of a rapist (not that i know what that would be like...)! i havent got a b'ball game next wk 2 take it out of me so will be back 2 my old self...non stop running!!! WE WILL WIN!!!

I had an off night too, I felt that my contribution was pretty below par; sorry fellow Digglers. I've come to the conclusion that their team name must stand for 'We Are F*ckers FC' and they truly were. We might have had a bad game but there was a true Diggler spirit starting to emerge. I reckon the Red Sox are a team we can beat & we should look forward to the game with confidence. Come on the Digglers!!!

Don't be soo Negative. All of you had positives that were shown trhoughout the game. focus on them.
Lets not blame ourselves at the end of the day the other team were a bunch of wankers and made the game un enjoyable to play so we let them win.... or somthing like that.
please add any songs or chants you wish the subs to sing because that really pissed off the other team.

Just a note, not sure if it has been passed on. I am unable to make it tommorrow. Got to man the pumps of the collage bar. I also have doubts as to whether Chris and Ben H will be able to make it. I will let them confirm that.
